MLW & Co. was founded by Makae Wright - a molecular biologist turned commercial strategist - who has spent her career translating complex science into actionable business systems.

Makae’s journey began in research labs and clinical testing environments, where she helped develop large-scale diagnostic systems during the COVID-19 pandemic, including international deployments across the Middle East. Her technical fluency spans molecular biology, PCR, pharmacogenomics, and laboratory automation, giving her a deep understanding of how scientific rigor translates into operational precision.

But her expertise didn’t stop at the bench. Makae moved into business development and growth leadership, where she led the turnaround of a clinical lab by building a high-impact sales team and delivering $1.2 million in new revenue. She worked directly with physicians, executives, and healthcare conglomerates, often bridging the gap between highly specialized medical offerings and the business goals of diverse stakeholders.

In her most recent roles, she advised health plans on improving STAR and HEDIS performance, launched go-to-market strategies for MedTech innovators, and built scalable demand generation systems that aligned with complex regulatory requirements. Across every position, the same theme emerged: companies were hiring salespeople before they had sales systems.
